Employment Disputes
Will Newman has represented employers in a variety of disputes. These include allegations of:
Failure to pay wages and commissions due;
Age, sex, and racial discrimination;
Wrongful termination and retaliation;
Breaches of non-competition agreements, non-disparagement clauses, and other restrictive covenants; and
Violations of a federal human trafficking statute.
Employment disputes pose challenges to employers. Employees are often entitled to recover their attorney’s fees, which adds to the potential cost of a lawsuit. And employees’ lawyers are often aggressive and difficult to work with. Many also pursue claims that the law plainly does not support.
Will is familiar with these issues and has substantial experience successfully defending clients when disputes arise. He has negotiated numerous separation agreements and settlements, and has defended employers in arbitration and at trial.
